Professional Geophysical Consultants in Reno, NV, at Your Service

Magee Geophysical Services LLC was founded by Christopher Magee, a reputable geophysical contractor with a degree in Geophysical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, who had been in the industry since 1978. Since 2005, we have acquired 100,000+ gravity stations and 10,000+ line-kilometers of ground magnetics. During those years, our professional geophysical consultants in Reno, NV, have staked out hundreds of line-kilometers of IP, seismic, and EM profiles. Sadly, Chris passed away in May 2025. The company is now owned by Brian Page.

Brian Page: Geophysics Expert and Geophysical Consultant in Reno, NV, Leading Our Operations

Under the leadership and ownership of Brian, our company continues to honor the legacy of our founder by providing exceptional geophysical solutions, from geophysical inversion to safe land gravity survey services in Reno, NV.

Capabilities

With an extensive staff of professional geoscientists and highly trained operators, we can field and support multiple crews simultaneously across different geophysical case studies and projects. We specialize in mineral, oil and gas, and geothermal exploration, groundwater investigations, and reservoir monitoring.

Leveraging Over 20 Years of Industry Experience

Our professional geophysical consultants and field teams have over two decades of industry expertise in over 40 countries. They have substantial experience with safe data acquisition on developed properties, active and reclaimed mine sites, geothermal plants, active oilfields, drill rigs, quarries, and beyond worldwide.

With dozens of Arctic projects completed during the summer and winter under our belt, our professional geoscientists and operators are also well-versed in handling logistics in the Arctic, rainforests, and remote, inaccessible areas. They also have extensive experience with helicopter, fixed-wing, snow machine, and ATV operations.

Project Highlights

  • Conducted magnetometer surveys over producing and “blind” geothermal systems in the western USA and exploration-stage surveys in the Americas.
  • Completed geophysical services for numerous large-area, multi-stage projects over world-class gold deposits in Nevada.
  • Directed the acquisition and processing of a four-phase relative gravity network in the Middle East.
  • Collected nearly 4,000 stations continuously over a 14-month period covering nearly 2,150,000 km2.
  • Achieved 3 μGal resolution for a 25-station gravity calibration line and better than 17 μGal resolution for primary and vertical relative networks using modified ladder-looping procedures.
  • Supervised and processed daily data for five, 2- to 3-man crews, each operating two CG-5 gravity meters simultaneously.
  • Assisted in the establishment of an absolute gravity network and the determination of local vertical gravity gradients.
